If this mailing goes out to the planned schedule, then there are 38 sleeps left until Christmas Day! At this point, you’ve probably been thinking about your Christmas services since July, and you’re knee-deep in volunteer team arrangements. You’ve no doubt double-checked the mince pie orders and are about to test the Christmas Tree lights. There is SO much to do for church administration and ops teams in this season and it is one of the busiest in church life.
It’s also a season of huge opportunity for the church to showcase the joy and hope of Jesus in the darkness of winter, and in the darkness of economic hardship for many. The UCAN team pray blessing on you and your church’s activities and plans in these weeks ahead. May you shine a bright light of the reality of God in your community as you sing carols, read the Christmas story from Scripture and run foodbanks, Christmas lunches and nativity plays. In the busyness of your role, we also hope and pray that you will take a moment to welcome the Christ child afresh into your own heart this Christmas and that you’ll know the joy and peace of the Christmas season personally.
