For some time, we have been aware that our local groups, which are at the heart of the UCAN network, would benefit from additional support, capacity and oversight. We are a relational network first and foremost, and now that the pandemic is in the 'rear-view mirror' and the UCAN membership can gather in person, we're delighted to launch our new Network Enabling Team. Meet Jenny Parsons, Verity Yeates and Maria Pavey, all long-standing members, who started in their part-time roles on the team this month.
Jenny – based in Surrey, Verity - based in Devon, and Maria – based in Staffordshire, will oversee the growth of the UCAN network, with particular emphasis on encouraging and resourcing existing Local Groups and leaders; recruiting new leaders and launching new groups, and increasing support, training and connection for different types of administrators in different localities. If you are a Local Group leader you can expect to hear from Jenny, Verity and Maria soon.
