News from the NET - February 2024

I was recently challenged to ask myself ‘What would THIS look like if it were fun?’ THIS being our job. The purpose behind the challenge is, that we are more productive if we are happy. This was not delivered in a faith context, but it got me thinking about what the bible says on this subject, as I often find what we are learning and developing from an academic perspective, be this life coaching or science, is often already laid out for us in scripture.

Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Exodus 18:17-18

“Moses’ father-in-law replied, “What you are doing is not good. You and these people who come to you will only wear yourselves out. The work is too heavy for you; you cannot handle it alone.”

Take some time to meditate on the knowledge that God wants us to work with him, so that we have rest for our souls and that even back in Old Testament times, God was reminding Moses that he was trying to go it alone, when he needed to share the workload. Pray about what direction God would have you move in so that you can follow His pattern for your role.
