Since becoming a non-profit company in 2017, UCAN has primarily run on voluntary time from its Directors and the Cutting Edge Team.
We now also have a handful of paid part-time staff – wonderful Nicola, Verity and Maria (and also Jenny for a while but more on that here...). These wonderful folk are all VERY part-time but because they’re all administrators who punch way above their weight - achieving so much and working efficiently and effectively - you’d never know the limited hours they work for UCAN. All their hours still come to less than one full time role!
UCAN is therefore still hugely reliant on voluntary time to exist. And, probably just like in your church, there’s more we could do (and long to do) if we had additional capacity. We’re always on the lookout for additional hands-on deck from within the UCAN community. Could that be YOU?
We currently have specific roles on the Cutting Edge team as well as needing some extra voluntary administrative support for our training events and programmes.
Did you know that UCAN currently serves ~900 churches in the UK, with a membership of ~1,800 active administrative and operations staff across those churches. We’d love to do more and the only thing holding us back is a little help from our friends within the UCAN community.
