In 2019/2020 UCAN hosted an area training day entitled ‘Communicating with IMPACT’ at 14 locations around the UK. The day covered auditing your church’s communication and devising a communications strategy, embracing creative and professional design and using social media and digital tools for a missional purpose.

This online resource pack contains video recordings from the day, featuring 5 speakers covering 3 sessions. Additionally the download includes the course handbook, exercises and take-away tools to aid your audit of communications and creation of brand guidelines.

1. ‘You are communicating, - but what are you saying?’ – Developing a strategic approach to communications.

As churches we are in the business of communicating. We have a message to proclaim and information to share with our membership, our fringe and our community. Do you have a plan in place? Are you intentional? You will already be communicating a lot, but do you know what you’re saying? UCAN Director Andy Bagwell will lead you through how to conduct a basic communication audit to avoid some of the pitfalls of church communication. 

2.  ‘Created to be Creative.’ - Applying a creative approach to communications . 

We worship and proclaim a creative God but too often our communication and printed literature lacks creativity or professionalism. This workshop will unpack how to create a consistent brand, work with templates to improve the quality of your publications and creatively express your church’s personality in print and on screen.

3. In 280 characters or fewer…’ - Embracing a missional approach to social media and digital content.

Social media is a powerful tool for keeping your church conversation going throughout the week and connecting with your community. Jay Butcher will lead us into the 'missional' world of blogs, Facebook, Twitter & Instagram
