In our first session, Gavin reminds us of the joy and privilege that we have to serve our local churches with the gift of administration. Firstly, exploring the need for this gift to be both exercised in faith and dependence upon God, and then looking at how we can stamp the character of God on our work.

Managing Yourself & Others ~ Penny Clarke, UCAN Director, Head of Finance at BRF Ministries, University Lecturer and Former Church Finance & Operations Lead

Managing ourselves and others can be both challenging and incredibly rewarding, yet it is a biblical principle since the beginning of the world. In this talk, Penny takes a look at the differences between leadership and management, and how to bridge the gap between vision and implementation.

Coaching Yourself & Others ~ Dr Jules Morgan, UCAN Director, Head of People & Operations at BRF Ministries, Partner at GiANT London Consulting and former Executive Director of New Wine

Jules guides us through the fundamental principles of coaching and draws on biblical examples of best practice from Jesus' ministry.

The practical session gives some tools and frameworks for those who want to start using coaching skills in their teams.

The Dearest Place on Earth ~ Mark Parsons, UCAN Director and Operations Manager at Christchurch, Clifton

Mark looks at the balancing act we sometimes have to play between efficiency and loving others. By nature, many of us like to have streamlined processes but sometimes our workflows and processes need to be less efficient to better serve and love our church families.
